Election Day May 16 | Early Voting May 2 - 9
Lower Taxes & a Permanent Teacher Pay Raise
Vote Yes On Four amendments.
One stronger Louisiana.
On the May 16 ballot, Louisiana voters will consider four constitutional amendments focused on teacher pay raises, putting more money into the classroom and cutting taxes to lower prices, and modernizing government.
Vote Yes Amendment 3
Permanent Teacher Pay Raises
Amendment 3 pays down wasteful debt in the Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana. By reducing that debt, financial savings from debt retirement costs will be used to support permanent pay raises for teachers and school support staff and allow for increased funding for local schools.
Why It Matters
-
Delivers permanent pay raises
Savings from paying down wasteful retirement debt will fund a permanent $2,250 raise for teachers and $1,125 raise for school support staff. -
Frees up major funding for schools
Paying down retirement debt will save more than $220 million annually for K-12 schools and about $80 million for higher education, money that can go back into classrooms, faculty, and student support. -
Strengthens the retirement system
Reduces long-term debt and improves financial stability. -
Helps local school districts
Frees up funding for classrooms and students. -
Uses existing funds — no new taxes
Redirects current dollars to put your tax dollars to better use.
Vote YES on 3 to provide permanent pay raises for Louisiana educators, without raising taxes.
Vote Yes Amendment 4
Eliminate the Hidden Inventory Tax
Right now, there’s a hidden inventory tax built into the price of everyday things like groceries, clothes, hardware, and even your next car. You don’t see it on the receipt, but you feel it every time you pay.
Amendment 4 gives local parishes the option to eliminate this inventory tax, helping lower costs so you keep more money in your pocket.
Why It Matters
-
Lower prices on everyday items
This half-billion-dollar tax on goods like groceries, clothing, and cars gets passed on to you. Cutting it helps reduce everyday costs. -
Local control
Parishes decide what’s best for their communities. -
More jobs and investment
Louisiana is one of only a handful of states that still has this outdated tax. Eliminating it makes us more competitive and attracts new business. -
Stronger local economies
Gives communities another tool to grow and thrive.
Vote YES on 4 to eliminate the hidden tax, lower costs, and put Louisiana families first.

Amendment 1
Modernize State Government
Louisiana’s civil service system protects state employees from political interference — but it can also make it harder to modernize government and hold positions accountable.
Amendment 1 creates a transparent, public process that allows elected legislators to update which positions are included, helping government better serve today’s needs.
Why It Matters
-
Modernizes state government
Gives leaders the ability to update roles as government evolves — not stay stuck in the past. -
Increases accountability
Ensures positions can be reviewed and adjusted so government works better for the people it serves. -
Delivers better value for taxpayers
Helps make sure taxpayer dollars are being used efficiently and effectively. -
Keeps the process public and transparent
Any changes must go through the legislative process — not behind closed doors.
Vote YES to give flexibility while keeping decisions transparent and accountable.
Amendment 2
Fairness for St. George Schools
This amendment grants the St. George Community School System the same authority as parish school systems. It allows participation in the Minimum Foundation Program, provides access to funding for instructional materials, and enables the system to raise local revenues.
Why It Matters
-
Ensures fairness
St. George schools receive the same treatment as other Louisiana school systems. -
Supports students and classrooms
Provides access to critical education funding. -
Provides local control
Allows the community to manage and support its schools.
Vote YES to ensure St. George schools are treated like every other parish school system.
Vote YES on all FOUR amendments
to strengthen Louisiana’s future.
