Louisiana Crime Victims Attend Special Legislative Session to Advocate for Justice System Reform

BATON ROUGE, LA – In response to Louisiana’s alarming crime rates, including having the highest violent crime rate in the nation in 2021 and significant increases in juvenile crime, Governor Jeff Landry called a special session of the Louisiana legislature to reduce crime. Protect Louisiana Values, a dedicated nonprofit organization, has stepped forward to make a meaningful impact in the state of Louisiana.

In a unified stance for justice and safety, victims and their families are partnering with Protect Louisiana Values to advocate for a safer Louisiana, addressing key issues through proposed legislative reforms. These reforms include sentencing adjustments, increasing transparency within the criminal process, and implementing stricter measures for juvenile offenders.

Protect Louisiana Values is offering victims and their families a platform to stand against their aggressors and seek the justice they have been promised. The proposed legislation from Governor Jeff Landry and lawmakers are offering hope and support to victims while ensuring that the state becomes a safer, more just place for all its residents.
