Louisiana Is Open for Business

Governor Landry promised to make Louisiana a place where businesses want to invest, workers can build a future and families can prosper. The historic SpaceX investment is proof that Louisiana is competing, and winning.

And this growth won’t come at the expense of Louisiana families. SpaceX will cover the power generation and infrastructure upgrades needed for the project without impacting existing ratepayers, while incentives are tied directly to the company’s investment and job commitments.

Louisiana workers and businesses will have opportunities to benefit, too. Through Louisiana Works and Source Louisiana, our people will have greater access to the training, jobs and business opportunities created by this historic investment.

Building Louisiana’s Future While Protecting Its Coast

SpaceX has worked with Louisiana wildlife and coastal agencies to address potential impacts and identify opportunities that go beyond required mitigation. The project is expected to support additional investment in coastal restoration, including opportunities to improve hydrology, restore habitat and address shoreline erosion.

More acres restored. More habitat protected. More investment in Louisiana’s working coast.

From Louisiana to the Stars

SpaceX isn’t just investing in Louisiana. It’s building the future here.

The company plans to build a self-sustaining Louisiana spaceport designed to support the next generation of Starship launches, bringing cutting-edge infrastructure, innovation and opportunity to our state.

With power generation, propellant production, deep-water shipping, vehicle processing facilities and an airport, Louisiana will play a central role in America’s next great era of space exploration.

“In 1803, Louisiana gave America a continent. Today, Louisiana will give America the stars.”

— Governor Jeff Landry
