New Poll by Pollster Kellyanne Conway Shows Overwhelming Public Support for Landmark Nutrition and Health Bill
BATON ROUGE, LA. June 2, 2025 — A new statewide survey conducted by renowned pollster Kellyanne Conway of KAConsulting reveals overwhelming support for the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) initiative, landmark legislation championed by Governor Jeff Landry and authored by Senator Patrick McMath. Senate Bill 14, also known as “The MAHA Bill,” Includes These Key Provisions:
- Eliminates ultra-processed foods in state-funded K-12 schools
- Requires physicians and physician assistants to complete continuing education on nutrition and metabolic health
- Mandates warning labels on foods containing artificial dyes and chemicals banned in other countries
- Requires restaurants to disclose seed oils used in food preparation
- Restricts SNAP benefits from being used on sugary soft drinks and candy
Below are the poll results of 600 likely Louisiana voters with a margin of error of +4%.
- 86% support the MAHA bill overall
- 95% agree there’s a direct link between food quality and health outcomes
- 98% agree that people deserve transparency about chemicals and additives in their food
- 96% agree that the state should promote healthy food options, especially in public schools
- 89% agree elected leaders should address Louisiana’s health crisis
